2.4 million individuals visit porn website per hour

One of the world’s most prominent ponographic websites, Pornhub has said that in 2015 alone, it received an average of 2.4million visitors per hour. In the years that followed, its page views have increased tremendously as the world’s craving for explicit content has continued to balloon.

Time Magazine reports that “one independent web-tracking company clocked 58 million monthly U.S. visitors to pornographic websites in February 2006. Ten years later, the number was 107 million and in African countries there is also a steady rise in the number of people consuming pornography on the internet.

The significant reduction in the cost of internet data bundles as well as the proliferation of smart phones on the continent is helping to make pornography available to people across the spectrum.

As at 7, November 2017, in Nigeria, a pornographic website was the 24th most visited website, ahead of most bank and newspaper websites. Around the world it was estimated that people watched 4,392,486,580 hours of content on Pornhub in 2015. This is more than twice as long as Homo sapiens has spent on planet earth.

“When I get distracted or bored, I just pick up my phone and watch porn on the internet,” says Yinka Adelabu (Not real name). Its relaxing and removes my mind from up the stress, the 24 year old says.

“Its safer to watch on the internet because downloaded porn can be stumbled on by anyone who tries to go through your phone,” he said.

A lady who did not want to be identified said that she uses porn to satisfy her curiosity and as a source relieve from stress. Another lady who also pleased enormity said that to her porn was a medium for learning the ropes in the art of intimacy.

But some experts have said that porn may have serious implications for makes. Time Magazine relates the experience of a certain young man Noah Church,  26, who is part-time wildland firefighter in Portland, Ore. When he was 9, he found naked pictures on the Internet. He learned how to download explicit videos. When he was 15, streaming videos arrived, and he watched those. Often. Several times a day, doing that which people often do while watching that genre by themselves.

After a while, he says, those videos did not arouse him as much, so he moved on to different configurations, sometimes involving just women, sometimes one woman and several guys, sometimes even an unwilling woman. “I could find anything I imagined and a lot of stuff I couldn’t imagine,” he says. After the appeal of those waned, he moved on to the next level, more intense, often more violent.

In his senior year of high school, he had an opportunity to have actual sex, with a real partner. He was attracted to her and she to him, as demonstrated by the fact that she was naked in her bedroom in front of him. But his body didn’t seem to be interested. “There was a disconnect between what I wanted in my mind and how my body reacted,” he says. He simply couldn’t get the necessary hydraulics going.
