SWITZERLAND, MAY 27 – Former president Goodluck Jonathan and his wife patience, Senate President Bukola Saraki, and Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal are among prominent dignitaries that have stormed Port Harcourt to attend the public presentation of a book chronicling Governor Nyesom Wike’s achievements in Rivers State.
Others include Vice presidential candidate of the PDP, Peter Obi and Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus.
In his address, Jonathan congratulated Wike for winning the Rivers governorship election but condemned widespread violence and the interference of the military.
“We must come up with new standards for constituting our election management body in a way that people will have confidence. I believe in some Quarters what they do is that a body of people constitute the Election Management Body. It is not in the hands of one person.”
Congratulating Wike on winning the gubernatorial election in the state, Bukola Saraki said:
“I am happy to be part of this great victory of Governor Wike and the Good people of Rivers State. This was one of the toughest elections and the people stood by the governor in defence of democracy.
Governor Tambuwal, who is also a former Speaker of the House of representatives said:
“I commend the people of Rivers State for re-electing Governor Wike to continue with the good works he has started. – Governor Aminu Tambuwal Of Sokoto State.”
