After the Super Eagles bowed honorably out of the World Cup with a 2-1 narrow defeat to Argentina last night, reactions have been pouring from across the world.

One of the entities that have saluted the Super Eagles is the Italian football club, AS Roma. A post on the Club’s official English Twitter account reads:

“Sadly, it’s all over for the & their crazy, passionate fans. You had more than just a cool kit. You had spirit & pride. We made a lot of new friends; some will stay, some will go but one day we hope to see you in Rome or visit you in Lagos!”

The Italian club seems to have taken a liking to the Nigerian team in recent times. It has modeled its next jersey after Nigeria’s world cup Jersey and has promised to visit soon.
