SWITZERLAND, AUGUST 17 – Former Everton Manager, Ronald Koeman has been chosen as new Barcelona manager.
According to media reports, he is going to leave the Holland National team to join Barcelona this week.
Koeman emerged as the Catalan side’s key target in the wake of the Champions League quarter-final humbling, and the club plan to install him as the new man in the dugout this week after the departure of head coach, Quique Setien’s departure.
Former Juventus coach, Massimiliano, former Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino, and Arsenal legend, Therry Henry, had earlier been shortlisted for the job.
Today’s Echo gathers that Koeman will be given a two-year contract, according to reports. Meanwhile, the club’s much anticipated presidential elections won’t be moved forward amid the fallout of a traumatic season.
