AFCON Semi-Finals: Nigeria to Play Algeria on Sunday

The first semi final draw for the 2019 AFCON has been confirmed. Nigeria will face Algeria in the semi final .

The Super Eagles are through to the last four of the Africa Cup of Nations, following a thrilling quarterfinal 2-1 win over South Africa on Wednesday night.

The Eagles continue to display an impressive performance courtesy of overwhelming support from Nigerians and financial commitments from highly placed people such as African billionaire, Benedict Peters.

On Thursday, in the quarterfinal match between Cote D’ Voire and Algeria ended in 4-3 via penalty.

After 120 minutes, the match ended in a 1-1 and was stretched to penalties.

Earlier, a 62 minutes strike by Jonathan Kodjia cancelled Sofiane Feghouli goal for Desert Foxes of Algeria.

Geoffroy Serey Die and Wilfried Bony missed their spot kick for Cote D’Voire while Mohamed Youcef Belaili missed for Algeria.

The Super Eagles are through to the last four of the Africa Cup of Nations, following a thrilling 2-1 win over South Africa on Wednesday night.

Samuel Chukwueze gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead at the break, latching onto his own rebound to slot past the goalkeeper.

However, Bafana Bafana levelled in the second half, thanks to Video Assistant Referee (VAR) decision.

With the match looking to head into extra time, William Troost-Ekong forced the ball over the line in the final minute of play.
