SWITZERLAND, DECEMBER 14 – Nigerian musicians, Stanley Omah Didia alias Omah Lay, and Temilade Openyi alias Tems as well as music promoter, Muyiwa Awomiyi have been charged to court in Makindye, Uganda on charges of Negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious diseases.
The earlier plans of releasing them on police bond, were suspended after their casefile was sanctioned by the Office of the DPP.
They were jointly charged with four other Ugandans. All remanded till Wednesday this week.
The artists were arrested on Sunday alongside some other Ugandan citizens for violating COVID-19 protocols by doing a show in the country, attracting a large crowd and putting the people in danger. However, questions have been asked concerning who cleared the concert and its performers in the first place if it was illegal.
