A former Personal Assistant to Nigerian singer and songwriter Aituaje Iruobe, popularly known as Waje has responded to her recent social media post advising youths about success.
The PA, Yvonne Imongan, called out the singer in a new post today.
Yvonne disclosed that she almost lost her life while working with the singer, adding that personal assistants are people’s children not classified maids.
See Yvonne’s post below:
“I almost lost my life running errands for her. All I asked was time to study for my forthcoming exams and also in the midst work for her. I wasn’t really about the pay. I fell ill in the process working and funny I didn’t get a lil support for my medical bills. I let that slide. All this drama just started this morning when I asked for a few days to study and she asked if this job was convenient and I replied no just for the main time not like I wanted to quit. Then she said I can go back. I thought she understood as a mother would. Tomorrow completes a month I started working with her efficiently. I got home and asked if I would be paid for the one month I worked and she replied no saying I was on probation. Sometimes I come home late without eating and my ulcer starts again—”
Waje in her post had stated that young people think that success is all about wearing makeup, smiling, and taking photos, however the struggle is real and not as glamorous as they think. The singer also disclosed that in the last 3 months she has worked with 4 personal assistants, and they all thought that the job was about taking photos while complaining that the job was stressful.
