Plateau governor sympathises with victims of Jos Terminus Market fire

Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau state has condoled with marketers and traders affected by the unfortunate fire incident that ravaged the satellite market attached to the burnt Jos Main Market.

In a statement through the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Yakubu Dati, Lalong described the incident as unfortunate coming at a time when the state was on the path to recovery from recent challenges.
It will be recalled that the fire engulfed the popular Jos Main Market during the early hours of Saturday morning.
No life was lost during the incident, but goods and properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed.
Lalong disclosed that his government has already acted on preliminary recommendations received from a team of assessors who visited the area of the market affected by the inferno.
He said, “The government remains committed to it’s sacred responsibility of the protection of lives and property. I  also urge the general public to observe safety precautions at all times.”
