LASAA solicits partnership with MVAA to drive Revenue for Lagos
The Managing Director, Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), Mr. Mobolaji Sanusi has solicited for the support of Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA) in the revenue drive of the agency, saying that it has become imperative considering the sensitive role MVAA plays as one of the revenue generating agencies of the State.
He stated this during a courtesy visit by the management of LASAA to the office of Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA) at the Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
Sanusi said that LASAA, whose major functions include regulation of signage and billboards, has observed that most companies with branded vehicles used for mobile adverts under-declare such vehicles for registration and payment, thereby reducing revenue accruable to the State Government.
He added that the assistance of MVAA in ensuring that such companies complied with their registration and payment responsibilities would be of immense benefit to LASAA.
Responding, the General Manager, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency, ‘Deola Adepoju, thanked the team for the visit and promised to look into the request.
She, however, noted that it was important that the request by LASAA be formalised as all agencies of government are geared towards achieving the same goal.
On her part, the Chief State Licensing Officer, MVAA, Mrs. Oluwatosin Adegun suggested that LASAA should also ensure to forward the list of companies with branded vehicles in its possession for verification by MVAA stations at the point of registration or renewal of vehicle documents.
