Dangote to buy Arsenal in 2020

Nigerian business magnate, investor, and owner of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote has reiterated his desire to buy North London giants, Arsenal in a couple of years.

The Billionaire has been linked with purchasing a significant stake at the Emirate Stadium for several years now.

According to reports, Alisher Usmanov is willing to sell his 30.4 per cent share after several failed attempts to convince Stan Kroenke over a potential takeover.

In an interview with Reuters, Dangote said:

“We will go after Arsenal from 2020… even if somebody buys, we will still go after it.”

If they get the right offer, I’m sure they would walk away

Someone will give them an offer that will make them seriously consider walking away. ‘And when we finish the refinery, I think we will be in a position to do that.”

He’s currently the richest man in Africa and is worth $13.8 billion (£10.4bn) according to Forbes.
