SWITZERLAND, APRIL 16 – The Chinese construction company, CCECC has converted a five-storey building in Abuja to a fully-equipped COVID-19 isolation centre for the country. This follows the arrival of 14 Chinese doctors facilitated by the company.

The company made the announcement on Instagram:

“Renovating a COVID-19 Isolation and Treatment Center in just two weeks! We made it!”

CCECC added:

“On March 25, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello came to us and asked us to help renovate a five-storey building in Idu area of Abuja into an Isolation and Treatment Center for coronavirus patients, as there were 46 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country.

“Although the lockdown in Abuja would make it difficult for us to comply, CCECCers managed to deliver it. Equipment, materials, and personnel from other projects were urgently mobilized overnight. After about two weeks of around-the-clock construction, the Isolation and Treatment Center was successfully delivered on April 6. We all do our parts to help contain the virus.”
