Child sex dolls have now appeared in the market in some countries amidst widespread protests against the worrisome development.

The child sex dolls were initially listed on Amazon, but the online platform had to pull out the product after significant criticisms. BBC reports that the British government and civil society had kicked against the development, forcing Amazon to remove it.

England’s children commissioner Anne Longfield, said Amazon should explain how the dolls were permitted to be posted on their website, and ensure they cannot be put back up for sale.

She further said Amazon should ensure “disgusting” child sex dolls are not restored for sale on its website, after a BBC investigation found them for sale on its platform.

“Such dolls are clearly built for one purpose, and that purpose is a clear danger to the safety of real children,” she said in a statement after a BBC investigation into the issue.

In its response, Amazon said; Amazon said: “All Marketplace sellers must follow our selling guidelines and those who don’t will be subject to action including potential removal of their account. The products in question are no longer available.”

It is yet to determine the aim of the producers and marketers of such a product. Are they promoting child abuse?
