The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole has left Nigeria amidst his reported detention by the department of state security services, DSS.
Oshiomhole was reportedly detained and grilled over the role he played in the primaries of the party. It was also gathered that Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state secured bail for Oshiomhole from DSS after he underwent 9 hours of intense grilling from the security agency.
News going round insome circles indicate that the DSS was prompted to pick up Oshiomhole after receiving numerous petitions accusing Oshiomhole of bribery and manipulating the APC Primaries. Most of the petitions were from Zamfara, Imo, Ogun and Niger states respectively.
The APC has however, denied that Oshiomole was arrested
Reacting to reports of the questioning of the chairman, National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu said Mr Oshiomhole is currently out of the country and could not immediately respond to the “rumor”.
“We do not have any information on this rumor. More so, the Chairman is not around in the country to confirm or deny this. As soon as we have any relevant information, you’ll be updated”, he said.
The party said Comrade Oshiomhole traveled abroad Monday on personal grounds, declining further details about the trip.
