Former American First Lady, Michelle Obama attended the 61st Grammy awards last night.
Obama was there for her friend, multitalented black singer and songwriter, Alicia Keys, who was the host. She was also on the red carpet with her, a well as Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Jada Pinkett Smith.
“A big part of friendship is showing up for your girls—that’s why I was thrilled to be there for the one and only @aliciakeys at the #GRAMMYs. She is one of the most genuine and thoughtful people I know—there’s no one better to help us all celebrate the unifying power of music!” Obama tweeted on her handle.
Alicia Keys was a delight to watch at the Grammys. She captured the audience’s attention when she played two Pianos at the same time!
According to CNN, Keys, who was the first female host of the show in 14 years, tackled the job with her signature super-chill approach that brought a calming energy, class and cool to music’s biggest night. (The last woman to host was Queen Latifah in 2005)
